Frequently Asked Questions
Do you treat children?
Yes we do! All of our practitioners are fully insured and highly skilled and many of them see children day to day in the NHS.
Some of our practitioners will see as young as 3 years and up, for more details please give us a call to discuss your needs.
Does Syringing/Microsuction hurt?
No, the process of wax removal is a gentle process, whether you opt for Microsuction or Syringing. Our practitioners are all very skilled at wax removal, and they are great at putting patients at ease. We do advise oil used for 3 days beforehand, so it loosens the wax from the hairs/skin in the ear canal, but if you are after an emergency appointment, then we do have fast acting drops on site to help us along.
Do I need to put oil/drops in my ears before my wax removal appointment?
It is helpful if you apply oil/drops 3 days leading up to your appointment so that any hard wax is softened and separated from hair/skin in the canal, this makes the process easier and more comfortable for you.
My ear still doesn't feel clear after my appointment, what can I do?
Although rare, if there was a large build up of wax, then there are occasions where it can get stuck on the ear canal and may fall down in its own time, causing fullness. We offer a two week free follow up, if you are not 100% happy with your results, giving you piece of mind and value for money.
I have an ear infection, can I still have Microsuction done?
Yes you can! We work with GPs to make the process smoother, our registered Aural Care Practitioners are highly skilled and have the tools to remove the infection that is causing you all that discomfort. Once clear, you can then seek medical advice and antibiotics from your GP to treat the infection.
I can't to hear my TV or struggle to follow conversations, can you help?
We would be happy to have a chat with you about this, we can offer you a consultation and free hearing test to find out what's going on. We encourage family members to come along to these appointments, to ensure you feel comfortable, and we can answer any questions you or your loved ones may have. We adopt a calm, friendly and informative approach, no hard sells, just kindness and guidance on whatever path is right for you. All of our audiologists have worked in the NHS, so we can advise on private and non-private hearing aids if appropriate. Our main goal is to offer a helping hand, no matter the outcome of the hearing test, with us you are not just a number.
I have hearing aids with another provider, but I'm not happy with their service, can you help?
Absolutely, if you have private hearing aids, then we are more than happy to have a chat with you to see how we can help further.
I'm afraid we aren't able to take over the care of NHS hearing aids, however if you are looking to swap from NHS to private, then please do get in touch.
I have had Tinnitus for years and still struggle. Can you help?
Penny, our Audiologist, is very knowledgeable when it comes to Tinnitus and understanding how to make it more bearable in your every day life. There is currently no cure for Tinnitus, however Penny has many different ways of coping and having Tinnitus herself she is empathetic with people, who like herself, have to learn to live with it and how isolating this can be at times.
